Ik geloof het half. ‘Truth in quickness’, zeker, maar ‘effort for a style’ lijkt me de essentie van schrijven. In traagheid zit evenveel waarheid, in zoeken, proberen, niet weten. It might take a nanosecond, and a 100 years. Schrijven is, en dit weet ik zeker, zinnen maken als: learn from lizards, lift from birds. Tell me there was a little bit of effort, and some delay, Ray.
