Le Guin\u2019s The Left Hand of\u00a0Darkness<\/em> <small>\u2013 biblioklept<\/small><\/p>\n<p>I burned this book<br \/>\nI don\u2019t have a college education<br \/>\nI started reading this book years ago<br \/>\nHow they kemmer (Another word for mating)?<br \/>\nI find the use of made up language difficult to interpret<br \/>\nThe Left Hand of Darkness it nothing but some sort of feminist garbage<br \/>\nAfter reading just over 100 pages of this utterly worthless book<br \/>\nno depth of character or feeling coming thu<br \/>\nI was just forced to read this book<br \/>\nI don\u2019t care what her father did<br \/>\nI haven\u2019t read hardly any Sci Fi<br \/>\nas good as a warm cup of milk<br \/>\nno story whatsoever<br \/>\nno plot<br \/>\nI\u2019ve read a lot of scifi<br \/>\nI read couple of chapters<br \/>\nI was forced to read this novel<br \/>\nI will NOT be reading any more Sci Fi<br \/>\nI was a biology and psychology major in college back in the mid 70\u2019s<br \/>\nI think she was trying to impress people back when she originally wrote the book<br \/>\nAsk youself why people keep on bringing up the fact that her father was an anthropologist?<br \/>\nBeing an honors lit. student thu high scool and college, I am no stranger to classic lit<br \/>\nminor cultural concepts (language, religion, hierarchy)<br \/>\nthere are no kemmering in a pornographic sense<br \/>\nI could NOT follow what was even going on<br \/>\nI\u2019m still trying to read my way through<br \/>\nMy taste is sophisticated<br \/>\nI love Sci Fi on TV<br \/>\nno excitement<br \/>\nI read 75%<br \/>\njust a description of a planet<br \/>\nHe certainly isn\u2019t particularly manful<br \/>\nGive me a setting that isn\u2019t a prescription for Prozac waiting to happen!<br \/>\nthe jumping from old folklore stories on the planet and the tale being told<br \/>\nshe gives characters such crazy names that it\u2019s hard to remember who\u2019s who<br \/>\nI read up to the chapter where the main character was imprisoned, and I don\u2019t care<br \/>\nSome cultures belong in a petri dish and should be treated with biocide rather than respect<br \/>\na totalitarian pesthole notable only for the biological oddity of its people<br \/>\nIs Ursula Le Guin the worst writer in American history?<br \/>\ndated, cumbersome and boring<br \/>\nEnough said<br \/>\nboring<br \/>\nHated it<br \/>\nIt\u2019s about an envoy<br \/>\nbizarre characters and other minor details<br \/>\nA good candidate for the first sci-fi book burning<br \/>\nThe author should have gone into anthropology like her great father<br \/>\nNothing but some dude wandering around curious about gender roles<br \/>\nThis was purchased and read for a book club. Absolutely no one liked it<br \/>\nSimply put, this book is just a 60\u2019s retread going through a mental exercise<br \/>\nIt is just a silly exercise in exploring what a world without genders would be like<br \/>\nIs Shakespeare\u2019s daughter a good storyteller just because her father was the greatest writer ever?<br \/>\nthe culture she has created in this book is uninteresting, unbelieveable, and sounds like the more dismal parts of New Jersey anyway<br \/>\nThe author waste a lot of pages on unnecessary side stories<br \/>\nHad NO idea what was going on throughout the entire book<br \/>\nThe worst (psudo) ethnography I have ever read<br \/>\nCould NOT follow the author\u2019s train of thought<br \/>\nand then they kemmered<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Selections from One-Star Amazon Reviews of Ursula K.
