Waarom zou je een biografie schrijven als je in een oogwenk een leven bij elkaar klikt? Douglas Coupland noemt de biografie ‘an already vanishing mode of perceiving the past’. Vlak daarna, een komma later, noemt hij \u2013 niettegenstaande internet \u2013 toch een mogelijke reden: ‘the notion that a landscape is best viewed with a single source of light \u2013 the sun, one light bulb, a lone candle, a lone writer \u2013 so that all the shadows and highlights are true to each other.’ <\/p>\n
Juist omdat het vlak erna is en ik mijn verdediging heb laten zakken, raakt dat beeld me. Zodat de schaduwen kloppen<\/em>. Twee slagaders voorzagen zijn brein van vers bloed, in plaats van \u00e9\u00e9n, iets wat je vooral bij katten aantreft, zelden bij mensen.
